Xiaomi has announced that it will Redmi 7A smartphone in India on July 4. It is already available in China and the company has promised to launch it with some upgraded features in India. Now, they confirm that the upgrade in Redmi 7A Indian version will be its camera.
Just a day ahead of the official launch, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Indian version of the Redmi 7A will sport a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25um pixel size. Notably, this is the same sensor which also comes with the Redmi Note 7 and the Mi A2.
The Chinese version of Redmi 7A sports a 13MP sensor with 1.12um pixel size. Earlier, when the company announced about the upgrade, we expect it to come with an IR sensor which was not present in the Chinese model.

Redmi 7A is the company’s latest budget phone and successor to last year’s Redmi 6A. It comes with features like 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 processor with 2GB RAM.
The Indian version will have a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX486 sensor, 1.25um pixel size, and f/2.2 aperture. It will have a similar 5MP front-facing camera.
Connectivity features will include 3.5mm audio jack, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS etc. It will pack a 4000mAh built-in battery.
The device comes with Splash resistant P2i nano-coating. Dimensions of the phone are 146.30×70.41×9.55mm and its weight is 150g. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
The price and availability of Redmi 7A will be announced tomorrow, on July 4th.
