Do you want to enable dark mode in the Google Search app? Since the release of Android 10, Google has been focusing a lot on bringing the dark UI across all its apps. So far, the giant has added the same to several of its products, including Chrome, Google Photos, Gmail, Google Keep, Messages, and more. And now, it’s time for Google Search and Google Assistant.

Yes, you can now enjoy the eye-pleasing dark visuals while using Google Search on both Android & iOS as well as while interacting with the Assistant. In this article, let’s have a quick look at how to enable dark mode in the Google Search app.

Get Dark Mode in Google Search App

The dark mode update for Google Search is currently being rolled out in phases and is expected to reach more users by the end of this week. However, there are chances that you may have already received the update on your device.

Now, it’s important to note that by default, the Google app adopts the system theme, meaning if you have enabled the system-wide dark theme in your phone settings, the same will reflect in Google Search. However, there’s still a manual way to do so, given below.

Steps to Enable Dark Mode in Google on Android & iOS

1] Firstly, make sure that you’re running the latest version of the Google app. Update it from Google Play Store if not already.

2] Now, open the app. Tap on More given at the bottom right corner.

3] Select Settings and head to the General section.

4] Here, scroll down to find the Theme option. Change it to Dark.

That’s it. The dark mode will now be enabled permanently across the Google Search app as well as the Google Assistant. If you want to switch to light interface anytime in future, follow the same steps, and change it to Light or System Default as per your choice.
