OnePlus Nord Vs Realme X2: Which One Should You Buy?

OnePlus launched its much-awaited OnePlus Nord smartphone in India last month. The new smartphone series from the company aims at taking on the mid-range smartphones in the country. If we talk about key specs of OnePlus Nord, it has a 6.4-inch Fluid AMOLED 90Hz display, Snapdragon 765G, 48MP Quad Rear Cameras, 32MP Dual selfie camera, and 4110mAh battery with 30W fast charging.

OnePlus Nord price in India starts at Rs. 24,999 and it goes on sale today during Prime Day Sale. With this price, it will take on the likes of Realme X2 and Samsung Galaxy A70, etc. Here, we are comparing it with Realme X2.

To recall, Realme X2 was launched in December last year. With features like Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 730G processor, 64MP camera, and 30W fast charger, the phone has been a favorite in the mid-range segment.

Because of their similar price tag, both these mid-range smartphones are now strong competitors in the Indian market. So, here is our OnePlus Nord Vs Realme X2 comparison, based on specs and price in India.

OnePlus Nord Vs Realme X2

Design: Glass Backs & Diff Fronts

Starting with the OnePlus Nord, the phone sports a glass body with a new gradient finish at the back and protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The device has a dual punch-hole display on the front. The device is 8.8mm thick and has 200g weight.

The Realme X2 also sports a glass back with a gradient finish just like previous Realme phones. It has a notch display at the front. Its back is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5. However, the X2 is thinner and lighter than OnePlus Nord.

Display: 90Hz Vs 60Hz

The OnePlus Nord sports a 6.44-inch Fluid AMOLED display with dual punch-hole at the top and offers a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. The screen also supports the 90Hz refresh rate and is protected by GG5.

The Realme X2 also sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. However, it has an old waterdrop notch which allows it a 91.9% screen-to-body ratio. It is also protected by GG5.

The big difference here is that OnePlus Nord has a 90Hz panel which makes it much smoother. Otherwise, in terms of brightness and colors, both displays are equally good.

Processor: SD 765G Vs SD 730G

Coming to the hardware, the OnePlus Nord is powered by the latest Snapdragon 765G processor, which also comes with 5G network support. The 7nm process based chipset has Kryo 475 CPUs that are clocked at up to 2.4GHz. It has Adreno 620 GPU.

The Realme X2 gets a gaming-focused Snapdragon 730G chipset. This 8nm processor has less-powerful Kryo 470 CPUs clocked at up to 2.2GHz. For graphics, it has Adreno 618 GPU.

The OnePlus Nord comes packed with up to 12GB LPDDRD4x RAM. While Realme X2 comes with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. In terms of storage, both pack up to 256GB storage.

UI: Oxygen OS Vs Realme UI

The OnePlus Nord runs on Android 10 with OxygenOS 10 on top. The Realme X2 was launched with Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 and later got the latest Realme UI update.

Both UIs have their usual set of apps and features. OxygenOS is much cleaner than ColorOS, however, Realme’s latest Realme UI has also come closer to stock Android look. Stil for UI, we leave the final verdict up to you guys.

Rear Cameras: 48MP Quad Vs 64MP Quad

OnePlus Nord comes with a quad-camera setup at the back that has a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera.

Realme X2 also sports a quad-rear camera setup with a primary 64-megapixel GW1 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera.

On paper, Realme X2’s rear camera specs look greater than that of OnePlus Nord’s. However, we will come to a conclusion when we do a brief comparison of both.

Selfie Camera: 32MP+8MP Vs 32MP

For selfies, the OnePlus Nord has a 32-megapixel primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide secondary camera. Whereas the Realme X2 has a single 32-megapixel sensor on the front.

So, here Nord has an upper hand because of an extra ultra-wide angle lens.

Battery & Fast Charging: Almost Similar

The Realme X2 is powered by a 4,000mAh battery while the OnePlus Nord has a slightly bigger 4,110mAh unit. Both the phones come with a 30W fast charger in the box.

Other Features: 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Connectivity options and other features like sensors on both the phones are the same, like an under-display fingerprint sensor. However, there are a few considerable differences including 3.5mm headphone jack. OnePlus has decided to ditch it while Realme still has it.

Price: Nord is Costlier

OnePlus Nord price in India starts at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB+64GB model. The 8GB+128GB version comes at Rs. 27,999, while the top 12GB+256GB model costs Rs. 29,999.

Realme X2, on the other hand. starts at Rs. 17,999 for 4GB+64GB model. Its 6GB+128GB version costs Rs. 19,999, 8GB+ 128GB costs Rs. 20,999, and the top model 8GB+256GB is priced at Rs. 22,999.

OnePlus Nord Vs Realme X2: Wrapping Up

Coming to the conclusion, OnePlus Nord sure has some upper hands being the latest phone. For instance, it has better looks, a smooth 90Hz display, a powerful chipset with 5G support, and a slightly bigger battery. All of this makes it a perfect mid-ranger. But Realme X2 will save you some bucks and despite that, you will still get a good looking glass body, AMOLED panel, power-packed chipset, and much more. So, it all boils down to your budget, if you ready to spend those extra bucks, Nord is obviously a good choice.
