How to Disable OnePlus Scout Search and Why?

OnePlus phones have always been praised because of their software, i.e. Oxygen OS. As it is fast and clean like vanilla android, yet packing some useful features, that gets added over time. Sounds useful right? However, there are some downsides as well. Let’s have a look at how can you disable Oneplus Scout and Why?

Why Disable Oneplus Scout?

With Oneplus Scout you can search for your favorite show on OTT platforms, or movie tickets, order your favorite pizza from a nearby outlet, local news, or even solve basic math problems. It also lets you search for anything present on your phone be it contacts, notes, documents, connected devices, in-app content like music, videos, and more.

However, in order to do so, it accesses your phone’s location data, and all files, all the time. Which you might not like for privacy reasons. Also, when you read the Terms of Use of OnePlus Scout, you will come to know that Oneplus doesn’t have any control and responsibility for the content it fetches from the web, including any downloads. Meaning there’s no content filtration or moderation, and security protocol followed for content served to the user (it can be you, children, parents, or any user who uses a phone and Oneplus scout).

After knowing this, if you want to disable Oneplus Scout on your phone, then you can do so by following the below-mentioned steps.
