WhatsApp today released a bunch of new features on WhatsApp and for a wide range of platforms. Some of the biggest features are the support for animated stickers, dark mode for web, and enhanced video group calls. There are more features to it, lets see what more features you are getting with this update.
WhatsApp New Features
Animated Stickers
WhatsApp has been testing this feature for quite some time and recently this feature got released and then rolled back when realized. Now, this feature is here to stay, and it’s really fun. We recently got the sticker’s features in WhatsApp and finally got the animated stickers features as well.
You can download animated stickers or create using a sticker creating an app and send them to your friends. The stickers only loop till you are in the chat window, once you leave it, the sticker will stop animating. You can tap on the sticker to see its animation and even download it for yourself.
Dark Mode for WhatsApp Web
We’ve been asking for this feature since we got dark mode on the app. WhatsApp finally listened and we go this feature working fine in the WhatsApp Web. You can enable disable this feature from the Settings of the WhatsApp web. This theme is not automatic, you need to enable and disable it all by yourself.
QR Codes to Share Profile
This feature was also released in the beta version of the app which lets you share profile suing a QR code. With this feature, you will be able to see a QR code option in the settings menu beside the profile. You can share your QR code or scan other’s QR code to save the contact easily on your device.
Better Group Video Calls
WhatsApp recently increased the limit for the video call participants to eight which was four before. This makes the windows smaller on the screen so WhatsApp added an enhanced feature that lets you tap on a video call window and it will get bigger over the video call.
Status for KaiOS
This update is only for the WhatsApp users on KaiOS because all other smartphones already got this feature. This feature lets you share a video, picture, or even a customized text to your contacts. This status feature got rolled out for the WhatsApp for KaiOS.
