Hence, phones and other products manufactured between 2015 and March 2023, i.e., till the S22 Series, for the Japanese market, have Galaxy branding and are genuine Samsung products. Starting with Galaxy S8, some Samsung phones have the FeliCa mark on the back, denoting NFC support.
Method 3 – Match the IMEI Number
After the physical inspection, you should match the IMEI number on the box with the sticker found on a brand-new phone, along with the IMEI number found inside the software as follows:
1. Launch the phone dialer pad and type *#06#.
2. A pop-up showing the phone’s serial and IMEI numbers will appear.
3. Match the IMEI number on the phone screen with the IMEI number on the box.
Method 4 – Match the S/N Number
Like the IMEI number, the Serial Number of a phone also holds crucial data, like the country code, the smartphone’s manufacturing date, and other details. To check this and verify whether the Samsung phone is fake or original, follow the below-mentioned steps:
1. Visit the IMEI24 website on a web browser.
2. Enter the phone’s IMEI number and verify the captcha.
3. The result will have the phone’s Serial Number and other details like the country and network carrier used.
You can also match this serial number with the one on the box by dialing *#06# to cross-verify all the details.
Method 5 – Check Product Registration
Another way to verify whether a Samsung smartphone is fake or genuine is to verify its product registration on the official Samsung website. Here’s how it check it:
1. Visit the official Samsung Product Registration page on a web browser.
2. Create or log in to your Samsung account.
3. Select the Smartphone sub-category under the Mobile category.
4. Enter the phone’s Serial Number and click Validation Check.
The check will show that the Serial Number is valid if it is a genuine Samsung phone. The serial number will show that the Serial Number is Invalid if it is a fake Samsung phone.
Method 6 – Try Using Bixby
Samsung phones come with their version of personal assistant, Bixby, as an alternative to Google Assistant and Siri. A fake Samsung phone won’t have Bixby. You can launch Bixby to check the authenticity and verify if the Samsung phone is fake or genuine.
1. Go to Settings on the Samsung phone, and search Bixby or Side key.
2. Under Side key settings, ensure the press and hold is set to Wake Bixby.
3. Now, press the power button (side key) for 2-3 seconds to activate Bixby.
If you can launch Bixby successfully, it’s a sign that the Samsung phone is genuine.
Method 7 – Run Maintenance Mode

Method 9 – Run S Pen Test
In the case of flagship Samsung phones with S Pen Support, you can run the specific S Pen Test from the Samsung Diagnostic tool and follow the pattern with the S Pen. Only a genuine Samsung phone can access and complete the test swiftly. If this does not happen, it is a fake Samsung phone.
